FUNCTIONS, FACILITIES & SERVICE  -

Veterinary department has infrastructure to treat sick animals diseases control and vaccinate the animals to prevent from diseases.

In addition to this, department provides facilities for breading and up gyration of local non-descript bread with exotic germ plasma to produce crossbreed having great caliber for milk production in order. In order to give sufficient strength to program castration of scrub balls is being undertaken to check propagation of scrub balls is being undertaken to check propagation of undesirable genes in the cattle available in the area of operation.

Different units are being established in the district to provide above facilities and in change may be contacted in case required.

Major achievements: -

In order to prevent colugos diseases treatment and vaccination is being undertaken by the apartment. On an arrange 75000 cases are being treated 2.5 lakh are being vaccinated per year.

Non-descript cattle population in being bred with Exotic germ jersey /H.F./sahiwal germ pleasure to boost milk production. On an average 8000 to 10000 the department to get 2500 valuable cavies per year is carrying out artificial insemeination.

Person oriented programmed are being undertaken on the basis of budget available to the department.

Any other specific information –

Narsinghpur district is to be covered under National cattle and buffallow breeding project for the year 2000-2001. Project period will be in phases of two concequence perieds of five years each. In order to expound our activity of breeding and to cover cant percent bread able cattle and buffellows population available in the district programmed is to be under taken. Work is in progress for the same.
